By using AI Patient Advocate ("the Application"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Application. You must actively consent to these Terms before the Application will access your Medicare data.
AI Patient Advocate is a local-first Personal Health Record (PHR) tool that connects to the CMS Blue Button 2.0 API to retrieve your Medicare Explanation of Benefit (EOB) data. The Application analyzes this data to help you identify billing discrepancies and prepare draft appeal documents. All processing occurs on your local device.
The Application is intended for use by Medicare beneficiaries and individuals who have been authorized by a beneficiary to manage their healthcare information (e.g., caregivers, legal representatives). You must have a valid Medicare.gov account to authorize data access.
When you connect AI Patient Advocate to your Medicare account:

Important: AI Patient Advocate generates draft appeal and redetermination letters based on your claims data and publicly available Medicare policy. These drafts are provided as a starting point for your review. The Application does not provide legal advice, medical advice, or representation.
You should review all generated documents carefully before submitting them, and consult with a qualified professional if you have questions about your legal rights or medical care. Appeal outcomes depend on the specific facts of each claim and are determined by Medicare and its contractors, not by this Application.

The Application's source code, design, and documentation are the property of Richard Scheipe. Your Medicare data belongs to you. The Application claims no ownership over your health information.
AI Patient Advocate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
You may stop using AI Patient Advocate at any time by revoking the Application's
access through your Medicare.gov account settings and deleting the Application and its
data/ directory from your device. We reserve the right to discontinue the
Application at any time with 30 days' notice.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Application interface. Changes will not take effect for existing users until 30 days after notification. Draft changes will be submitted to CMS for review before publication, as required by the Blue Button 2.0 API Terms of Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Burlington County, New Jersey.
